IETE (Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering) is an exclusive national professional body for Electronics Engineering /Electrical Engineering /Telecommunication Engineering /Information Technology. The IETE Student Forum (ISF) is the student wing of the IETE which offers a platform for interaction of students with the professionals in the relevant fields. The forum is supported by IETE national body.

 

The ISF at Kongu Engineering College was formed in the academic year 2007-2008 with 213 student members and organized quite a few programs for the benefit of the students. In the academic year 2008-2009 the strength of the forum increased to 357, in the academic year 2013-2014 it swelled to 760 and in current academic year 2014-2015 it is around 900 .

 

The ISF secured the “ Best ISF Award” for the academic years 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 under the Salem Zone. The ISF organizes many activities like quiz, paper presentation, placement relevant activities, guest lectures and workshops. Added to that, ISF conducts national level technical symposiums, student interactive programs like  idea presentation and  hardware and software contests.

 

 The student member has the benefits of accessing the IETE journal of Research, IETE technical review, IETE journal of Education and IETE Newsletters.The ISF at Kongu Engineering College has acquired as Sub-centre for the region.
